The Mathematics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, celebrated World Mathematics Day on 14 March 2025 at 2:00 PM. The programme was organised with the aim of promoting interest in mathematics, celebrating its significance in daily life, and encouraging students to appreciate the beauty and logic of the subject.

The event began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the global importance of World Mathematics Day and the need to cultivate mathematical thinking among future teachers. This was followed by an inaugural message from the faculty advisor, who emphasised how mathematics enhances problem-solving skills, reasoning, and creativity.

Various activities were conducted as part of the celebration, including mathematical puzzles, quiz rounds, problem-solving challenges, and games designed to make learning enjoyable. Students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their logical abilities and mathematical aptitude. Interactive sessions and collaborative tasks helped strengthen teamwork and stimulated curiosity among the participants.

An informative presentation on the applications of mathematics in technology, finance, nature, and everyday life further enriched the programme. The session encouraged students to view mathematics not merely as a subject, but as an essential tool for understanding the world around them.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the principal, faculty members, club coordinators, and students for their active support and participation.
