CRAFT WORKSHOP
CONDUCTED BY THE ARTS CLUB OF MCCTE MAHE
The Arts Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Craft Workshop on 19 March 2025 at 2:30 PM in the college campus. The programme aimed to enhance the creative skills of student teachers by introducing them to innovative craft techniques that can be incorporated into teaching, learning materials, and co-curricular activities.
The workshop began with an orientation by the resource person, who explained the importance of craftwork in education and demonstrated various techniques using easily available materials. Participants were introduced to activities such as paper crafting, recycled crafts, decorative art pieces, and simple classroom aids.
Students actively participated in hands-on sessions, creating unique craft items by applying the techniques demonstrated. The workshop encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills as students experimented with colour combinations, textures, and materials. The resource person guided participants individually, helping them refine their designs and improve their craftsmanship.
The atmosphere was lively and engaging, with students exchanging ideas and showcasing their creations. The workshop provided them with practical knowledge that can be effectively used in classroom decoration, activity-based learning, and project presentations.
The programme concluded with a display of the crafts made during the session and appreciation from the Arts Club coordinators. They expressed gratitude to the college administration, resource person, and participants for their cooperation in making the event successful.
The Craft Workshop successfully achieved its objective of fostering creativity and equipping student teachers with useful crafting skills.
