POEM RECITATION COMPETITION

The Music Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Poem Recitation Competition on 5th March 2025 at 3:00 PM with the aim of encouraging expressive reading, enhancing students’ confidence, and promoting appreciation for poetic artistry. The event provided a creative platform for students to experience the beauty of rhythm, emotion, and voice modulation through poetry.
The programme began with a brief introduction on the significance of poem recitation as a medium of artistic and emotional expression. Participants selected poems from a variety of genres, including nature, patriotism, inspiration, classical themes, and contemporary reflections. Each student presented their chosen poem with clarity, emotion, and expressive delivery.
The recitations showcased strong vocal skills, pronunciation, modulation, and interpretation. Students demonstrated the ability to convey the mood and meaning of the poems effectively, engaging the audience through their expressive performances. The event created a serene and inspiring atmosphere, celebrating the artistic connection between poetry and performance.
A panel of judges evaluated the participants based on clarity, voice modulation, emotional expression, understanding of the poem, originality in presentation, and overall impact. The judges appreciated the participants for their confidence, poise, and dedication.
The programme concluded with the announcement of winners and appreciation from the coordinators, who encouraged students to continue exploring literature and music as forms of creative expression. The Poem Recitation Competition was a successful and enriching event, reflecting the Music Club’s commitment to nurturing artistic talent, expressive skills, and cultural appreciation among students.
