As part of Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026, organized by Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in association with the Ektha College Union, various literary and fine arts competitions were conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from students of different groups including Thaalam, Varnam, Layam, and Bhavam.
The competitions included Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Caption Writing, Poem Writing, Short Story Writing, Film Review, Water Colour Competition, Cartoon Competition, Charcoal Drawing, Face Painting, Clay Modeling, Mobile Photography, and Digital Poster Making. Katha Niroopanam (English) and Charcoal Drawing Competition-“Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026”
The tenth day of “Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026”, organized by Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in association with the Ektha College Union, was conducted on 29 April 2026 with great enthusiasm and active student participation.
The competitions held on the day included Katha Niroopanam (English) and Charcoal Drawing Competition, providing students with opportunities to showcase their literary interpretation and artistic creativity.
The Katha Niroopanam (English) competition was conducted from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm at the College Auditorium. Participants demonstrated their analytical and language skills through effective narration and interpretation of stories. The event encouraged students to develop critical appreciation, communication skills, and creative expression in English.
The Charcoal Drawing Competition was held from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Library. Students displayed remarkable artistic talent through expressive charcoal sketches and drawings. Fine Arts Competition Results Announcement
As part of the vibrant celebrations of “Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026” organized by Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in association with the Ektha College Union 2025–26, various literary competitions were conducted to encourage students’ creativity, imagination, and linguistic talents.
The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing the groups Layam, Thaalam, Bhavam, and Varnam. The events provided a valuable platform for participants to express their thoughts, emotions, and artistic abilities through language and literature.
In the Caption Writing (Malayalam) competition, Sriya S (Bhavam) secured the first prize, while Swathi C T (Varnam) won the second prize. Nahal (Thaalam) achieved the third prize for the competition.

The Film Review (English) competition was held from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at the College Auditorium. In the Essay Writing (English) competition, Nivitha S Anil (Varnam) secured the first prize, followed by Fazna Faizal (Varnam) in the second position and Chandralekha (Varnam) in the third position.

“From Lesson Plans to Life Lessons”
The IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé organized an interactive sharing session titled “From Lesson Plans to Life Lessons” on 25 April 2026 at the College Auditorium from 3.30 pm onwards.
The programme was organized as a platform for the Second Year B.Ed. students to share their experiences, reflections, and insights gained during their teaching practice sessions. The event aimed to encourage peer learning, reflective thinking, and professional growth among future educators.
The session provided students with an opportunity to discuss real classroom experiences, challenges faced during teaching practice, innovative teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, and memorable learning moments from schools. The interactive discussions helped participants understand diverse perspectives and practical aspects of teaching beyond theoretical lesson planning.
Students actively engaged in sharing their experiences and reflections, making the session highly informative and inspiring. The programme also encouraged participants to learn from one another’s teaching journeys and strengthened their confidence as prospective teachers.
The event was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal, General Coordinator, and Mr. Arun U., Assistant Professor, IQAC Coordinator.
