Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations – 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence
Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe organized a series of programmes in connection with the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, celebrated as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The celebrations aimed to commemorate India’s freedom struggle, honour the sacrifices of national leaders, and inspire students to uphold the values of patriotism and national unity.
As part of the celebration, a variety of programmes and activities were conducted from February to July 2022, encouraging active participation from students and faculty members.
The programmes began on 23 February 2022 with a Fancy Dress Competition based on the theme “National Heroes.” Students dressed up as prominent freedom fighters and historical personalities, highlighting their contributions to India’s independence movement.
On 26 March 2022, a Tablo presentation on the theme “Vasudeva Kudumbam” was conducted, emphasizing the idea of universal brotherhood and harmony among people.
A PowerPoint Presentation competition titled “Achievements @75” was organized on 26 April 2022, where students presented the significant achievements and progress of India over the past 75 years in various fields such as science, technology, education, and social development.
On 26 May 2022, a cleanliness drive titled “Actions @75” was organized. Students participated in cleaning the Mahe walkways and surrounding areas, promoting the importance of civic responsibility and environmental awareness.
A seminar on the theme “Resolve @75” was conducted on 28 June 2022, where students discussed their responsibilities in contributing to the nation’s future development.
The celebrations concluded on 26 July 2022 with a Grand Quiz Competition on the theme “Freedom Struggle.” The quiz tested students’ knowledge about India’s independence movement and the contributions of freedom fighters.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations at MCCTE successfully instilled a sense of patriotism, national pride, and social responsibility among the students. The series of programmes provided a platform for students to learn about India’s rich history and to reflect on their role in building a better future for the nation.
