 English Association Inauguration – 2022

The English Association of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe was inaugurated on 21 February 2022 at 2:00 PM in the College Auditorium. The programme was organized by the English Department to promote literary activities and enhance students’ language and communication skills.

The programme began with a prayer by Ms. Ashwini and Ms. Arunima, students of the English Department. This was followed by a welcome dance, which added colour and enthusiasm to the inaugural function. Mrs. Bindu P. V., Assistant Professor in English, delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the guests and participants.

The presidential address was delivered by Ms. Aiswarya V. V., Association Secretary of the English Department, who highlighted the objectives and importance of the English Association in encouraging students to actively participate in literary and cultural activities.

The inauguration of the association and the name revealing ceremony was performed by Dr. P. Suresh Gaya, the chief guest of the programme. His presence and inspiring words motivated the students to develop their literary interests and communication skills.

The programme also included felicitations by Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE), Mrs. Padmalekha V. M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE), and Ms. Arya M Prakash (Maths Association Secretary), who appreciated the efforts of the English Department in organizing the event.

As part of the programme, Ms. V. S. Aiswarya, a student of the English Department, delivered a talk on World Mother Tongue Day, highlighting the importance of preserving linguistic diversity and promoting mother languages.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sreya P. K., Class Representative, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, faculty members, and students for their active participation. A special talk by Dr. P. Suresh Gaya was also conducted, which provided valuable insights and inspiration to the students.

The programme was a great success and marked the beginning of various literary and academic activities to be organized by the English Association during the academic year.
