 Book Release Ceremony

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe organized the Book Release Ceremony of academic publications prepared for the B.Ed. curriculum on Saturday, 16 May 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the College Auditorium. The programme was organized with the objective of enriching teacher education and providing comprehensive study materials aligned with the Pondicherry University B.Ed. syllabus.

The programme commenced with a prayer followed by a welcome dance. Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, delivered the welcome speech and warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and guests.

The presidential address was delivered by Sri. Sajith Narayanan, President, MCCIT, who emphasized the importance of academic publications in enhancing the quality of teacher education.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Sri. E. Valsaraj, Former Home Minister, Puducherry. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the initiative taken by the institution to publish academic books for B.Ed. students and congratulated the faculty members for their scholarly contribution.

An introduction to the books authored by the faculty members of MCCTE based on the Pondicherry University B.Ed. syllabus was presented by Sri. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE.

The books were officially released by Prof. (Dr.) S. Mani, Southern Regional Committee Member, NCTE and Professor, Department of Education, TNTEU, GRI, NIT. The first copy of the publication was received by Prof. (Dr.) Rajeesh Viswanathan, Professor and Officer on Special Duty, Pondicherry University, Mahe Centre.

The programme was felicitated by distinguished guests including Dr. C. Vences Cyril of Mithra Dev Publications, Tamil Nadu, Sri. Sreejesh MK (Vice President, MCCIT), Sri. K. Sreedharan, Sri. K. P. Krishnadas, Sri. T. M. Sudhakaran, Smt. Ashalatha P P, Sri. Shajesh K (Directors, MCCIT), and Sri. Prakashan K (PTA President).

The vote of thanks was delivered by Smt. Padmalekha V M, Assistant Professor, MCCTE, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, faculty members, and students who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem. The event marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the institution and reflected the commitment of the college towards quality teacher education and academic excellence.

 FINE ARTS 2026 – MONOACT COMPETITION

The Fine Arts 2026 Monoact Competition of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, was conducted with great enthusiasm and artistic spirit. The programme provided a platform for students to showcase their acting skills, creativity, stage presence, and emotional expression through monoact performances.

Students participated actively and presented impressive performances on various themes. The competition witnessed excellent talent, confidence, and dedication from the participants, making the event vibrant and memorable.

The winners of the Monoact Competition are as follows:

Greeting Card Making Competition

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in collaboration with the Asthra Women Cell, organized a Greeting Card Making Competition as part of the #BeyondMothersDay initiative on 12 May 2026. The programme aimed to encourage students to creatively express love, gratitude, and appreciation towards mothers through handmade greeting cards.

The competition emphasized originality and creativity by instructing participants to prepare handmade and handwritten cards using colour paper, chart paper, drawings, paintings, and other artistic designs. Printed or purchased cards were strictly prohibited, ensuring that the entries reflected the personal feelings and creative efforts of the participants.

Students enthusiastically participated in the event and showcased their artistic talents and emotional expressions through beautifully designed greeting cards. The competition created an atmosphere of affection, creativity, and appreciation for motherhood within the campus.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, coordinated by Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor and IQAC Co-ordinator, Mr. Vipin K, Assistant Professor and Union Co-ordinator, and Mrs. Nyji O, Assistant Professor and Women Cell Co-ordinator.

The Greeting Card Making Competition successfully promoted creativity, emotional expression, and respect towards mothers while strengthening the spirit of celebration associated with Mother’s Day.



Mother’s Day 2026 Photo Contest

 Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, through the IQAC in association with the Asthra Women’s Cell, organized a Photo Contest in connection with Mother’s Day 2026. The competition was conducted with the theme “Every picture tells the story of a mother’s love” under the hashtag #Tiny me with mom.

The contest aimed to celebrate the emotional bond between mothers and children by encouraging students to share memorable photographs that reflected love, affection, care, and cherished moments with their mothers. The programme provided students with an opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation towards their mothers through creative visual storytelling.

Participants enthusiastically submitted photographs capturing beautiful memories and emotional connections with their mothers. The event created a warm and joyful atmosphere among students and promoted the values of love, gratitude, and family bonding.

Mother’s Day-“A Beautiful Theme of Endless Love and Sacrifice.”

 Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in collaboration with the Asthra Women Cell, observed Mother’s Day on 10 May 2026 with the theme “A Beautiful Theme of Endless Love and Sacrifice.” The programme was organized to honour and appreciate the unconditional love, care, sacrifice, and strength of mothers in shaping individuals and society.

The celebration highlighted the importance of motherhood and recognized the invaluable contributions made by mothers in nurturing families and inspiring future generations. Students and faculty members shared heartfelt messages and reflections expressing gratitude and respect towards mothers.

The programme created an atmosphere of warmth, affection, and emotional bonding within the institution. The theme emphasized the silent sacrifices and endless support provided by mothers, inspiring students to value and acknowledge their role in life.

International Firefighters Day Slogan Writing Competition

The IQAC in association with the Disaster Management and Safety Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, organized a Slogan Writing Competition in connection with International Firefighters Day on 07 May 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among students regarding fire safety, disaster preparedness, and the invaluable service rendered by firefighters in protecting lives and property.

The competition encouraged students to express their thoughts creatively through impactful slogans highlighting courage, safety, emergency response, and social responsibility. Participants actively contributed innovative and meaningful slogans reflecting the importance of fire prevention and appreciation for firefighters.

Students submitted their entries through WhatsApp before 9.00 pm on 07/05/2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different optional subjects.

The programme was coordinated by the student coordinators Ms. Nivitha S Anil and Ms. Sandra Chandran K M of First Year Social Science. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor and IQAC Co-ordinator, and Ms. Vismaya K K, Assistant Professor and Club Co-ordinator.

The competition successfully promoted awareness regarding fire safety measures and inspired students to recognize the dedication and sacrifices of firefighters in society.

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, organized various literary and fine arts competitions as part of “Kalaima 2026” under the coordination of the IQAC and Ektha College Union. The competitions provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, artistic talents, literary abilities, and imaginative skills. Students from different houses actively participated with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.

The competitions included Travelogue Writing, Film Review, Katha Niroopanam, Short Story Writing, Pencil Drawing, Bottle Art, and several other fine arts events conducted in both Malayalam and English categories.
