Thiranga – Independence Day Celebration 2026

Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, organized “Thiranga – Independence Day Celebration 2026” on 15 August 2026 at the MCCTE Auditorium. The programme was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of India and to promote patriotism, unity, and national spirit among the students and staff.

The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, marking the beginning of the Independence Day celebrations. This was followed by the Independence Day message delivered by Sri. Sajith Narayanan, President, Mahe Co-operative Centre for Information Technology (MCCIT). His message highlighted the significance of Independence Day and encouraged students to uphold the values of freedom, responsibility, unity, and national service.

As part of the celebrations, sweets were distributed to the students and staff. The cultural programme included a patriotic song, a patriotic dance, and a skit, through which the students expressed their love and respect for the nation. These performances added colour and enthusiasm to the celebration.

A Treasure Hunt was also organized as part of the programme, providing students with an opportunity to participate in a fun and engaging team activity while fostering cooperation, creativity, and team spirit.

The celebration concluded on a cheerful and patriotic note, with active participation from the students and staff of MCCTE. The programme successfully created a sense of national pride and provided the students with an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of independence through meaningful cultural and recreational activities.
