Student Support & Institutional Responsibility
The IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, organized the 10th Session of the B.Ed. Orientation Programme on 14 August 2026 at the College Auditorium. The session focused on the theme “Student Support & Institutional Responsibility.”
The session aimed to familiarize the student teachers with the various forms of support available within the institution and to create awareness about the responsibilities of students towards maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and responsible academic environment.
Mrs. Deepthi P., Assistant Professor, MCCTE, served as the Resource Person. She explained the importance of student support systems in ensuring the academic, personal, and professional development of students. The session highlighted the role of various institutional mechanisms and support services that help students address their academic needs, personal concerns, grievances, and other challenges encountered during their course of study.
The Resource Person also emphasized the importance of students being aware of institutional policies, rules, and procedures. The session addressed the responsibilities of students in maintaining discipline, respecting institutional values, following academic regulations, and contributing positively to campus life.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of mutual respect, effective communication, responsible behaviour, and active participation in institutional activities. Students were encouraged to make appropriate use of the support systems available in the college and to approach the concerned authorities whenever they require guidance or assistance.
The session helped the student teachers understand that a healthy educational institution is built through shared responsibility between students, faculty, and the administration. It also encouraged them to become responsible members of the academic community and future professionals.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal, MCCTE, General Co-ordinator, with Mr. Arun U., Assistant Professor, MCCTE and IQAC Co-ordinator, coordinating the programme.
The session concluded with the students gaining a better understanding of institutional support mechanisms and their own responsibilities in creating a safe, respectful, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
