ODYSSEY ’26 – FRESHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

The Freshers’ Day Celebration, “ODYSSEY ’26”, was organised by the Ektha College Union of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, on 08 August 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme was organised to warmly welcome the new batch of B.Ed. students and provide them with an opportunity to interact, showcase their talents and begin their journey at MCCTE with joy and friendship.

The programme commenced at 9.30 a.m. with the formal inauguration. A vibrant Welcome Dance at 9.40 a.m. set an energetic and festive atmosphere for the day. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal, MCCTE, who addressed the students and welcomed the newcomers to the MCCTE family.

The celebration was organised through a series of subject-wise sessions and performances. The Mathematics and Commerce session, conducted from 10.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., featured an introductory dance by the students, a song by Mr. Nithinlal, a song by Ms. Vismaya, a student task and another song performance by Ms. Shradha and Ms. Shanty.

This was followed by the Physical Science session from 10.35 a.m. to 11.25 a.m.. The session included an introductory dance by the students, faculty performances by Mr. Nived C.M. and Ms. Anjana P.R., along with an engaging student task.

After the tea break, the Social Science session was conducted from 11.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m.. The programme included an introductory dance by the students, performances by Ms. Namitha and Ms. Deepthi, and a student task. The morning session concluded with a lunch break from 12.45 p.m. to 1.15 p.m.

The afternoon session began with Biological Science from 1.15 p.m. to 2.25 p.m. The students presented an introductory dance, followed by a faculty performance by Ms. Aneesha and an entertaining student task.

The final major session, representing the English Department, was conducted from 2.25 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. The session included an introductory dance by the students, performances by Mr. Arun U., Vice Principal; Mr. Sijindas; and Mr. Pradyoth, along with a student task.

The programme also featured several special performances, including a solo performance by Ms. Shrapiya, a group dance by Ms. Athira and team, and another group dance by Ms. Shanuja and team. These performances added colour, enthusiasm and excitement to the Freshers’ Day celebration.

With the inspiring theme “From Strangers to Stories, From Moments to Memories,” ODYSSEY ’26 successfully created a platform for the freshers to connect with their seniors, faculty members and fellow classmates. The programme reflected the spirit of unity, creativity and friendship that characterises the MCCTE community.

The Freshers’ Day Celebration – ODYSSEY ’26 concluded as a memorable and joyful occasion, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the first-year B.Ed. students and creating memories that they will cherish throughout their academic journey.
