The ninth day of “Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026”, organized by Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in association with the Ektha College Union, was conducted on 28 April 2026 with vibrant student participation and enthusiasm.
The day featured two engaging competitions: Film Review (English) and Cartoon Competition. The events aimed to encourage students’ critical thinking, creativity, artistic skills, and expressive abilities.
The Film Review (English) competition was held from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at the College Auditorium. Participants presented thoughtful and analytical reviews of films, highlighting themes, character portrayal, cinematic techniques, and social relevance. The competition provided students an opportunity to enhance their language proficiency, critical appreciation, and presentation skills.
The Cartoon Competition was conducted from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Library. Students showcased their artistic creativity and sense of humour through expressive cartoons based on various themes and contemporary issues. The event encouraged imaginative thinking and visual communication skills among participants.
The competitions were conducted successfully in a lively and creative atmosphere. The active participation of students added colour and excitement to the celebrations of “Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026,” making the day memorable and inspiring for all.
