As part of “Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026”, organized by Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahé, in association with the Ektha College Union 2025–26, various literary competitions in English and Malayalam were conducted with enthusiastic participation from students belonging to different groups namely Layam, Thaalam, Bhavam, and Varnam.
The competitions included Essay Writing (English and Malayalam), Slogan Writing (English and Malayalam), Caption Writing (English), Poem Writing (Malayalam), and Short Story Writing (Malayalam). These events provided a platform for students to exhibit their creativity, language proficiency, imagination, and literary talents.
In the Essay Writing (English) competition, Nivitha S Anil (Varnam) secured the first prize, followed by Fazna Faizal (Varnam) in the second position and Chandralekha (Varnam) in the third position.
In the Essay Writing (Malayalam) competition, the first prize was won by Sandra Chandran K M (Thaalam), while Aswini K (Thaalam) secured the second prize. The third prize was shared by Radhika Radhakrishnan (Varnam) and Vijay M K (Layam).
The Slogan Writing (Malayalam) competition witnessed excellent creative expressions. Aswini K (Thaalam) won the first prize, Radhika Radhakrishnan (Varnam) secured the second prize, and Athulya K P (Layam) achieved the third prize.
In the Poem Writing (Malayalam) competition, Saniya S A (Thaalam) secured the first prize, followed by Anamika C K (Layam) in the second position and Anugraha P (Thaalam) in the third position.
The Caption Writing (English) competition highlighted students’ creativity and linguistic skills. Saniya S A (Thaalam) won the first prize, Anjana Das (Varnam) secured the second prize, and Nandana K Krishnan (Layam) achieved the third prize.
In the Slogan Writing (English) competition, Niranjana V P (Thaalam) secured the first prize, while Snigdha Suresh (Bhavam) and Vaishnav S (Varnam) won the second and third prizes respectively.
The Short Story Writing (Malayalam) competition showcased imaginative storytelling abilities among participants. Anjana O K (Bhavam) secured the first prize, Anjali K K (Varnam) won the second prize, and the third prize was jointly shared by Saniya S A (Thaalam) and Swathi C T (Varnam).
The competitions were conducted successfully with active participation and healthy competitive spirit among students. The events encouraged literary expression, creativity, and confidence among future educators, thereby adding vibrancy and intellectual richness to the celebrations of “Kalaima – Fine Arts 2026.”
