Interactive Session on "Shaping Future Educators"
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organized an interactive session titled "Shaping Future Educators" on 18 May 2026 at 9:30 AM in the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted with the objective of equipping prospective teachers with the knowledge, skills, and professional values essential for becoming competent educators in the evolving educational landscape.
The session was led by Prof. (Dr.) S. Mani, Southern Region Member, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and Professor, Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), NIT, and GRI. The programme was organized under the general coordination of Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal, and coordinated by Mr. Arun U., Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the resource person and participants. During the session, Prof. (Dr.) S. Mani shared valuable insights into the changing role of teachers in the 21st century and emphasized the importance of continuous professional development, ethical practices, innovative teaching strategies, and reflective learning. He highlighted the expectations of NCTE regarding quality teacher education and discussed the competencies required to meet the demands of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The interactive nature of the programme encouraged active participation from the student teachers. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions and raised questions related to classroom practices, teacher professionalism, educational technology, and career opportunities in the teaching profession. The resource person responded to the queries with practical suggestions, inspiring the students to strive for excellence in their future careers.
