Sports Meet 2026
The Ektha College Union 2025–26 of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, organized the Sports Meet 2026 from 18 to 22 May 2026 with the objective of promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among the student teachers. The events were conducted at the College Campus, Mahe Indoor Stadium, Mahe Ground, and Greenfield Turf.
The Sports Meet featured a wide range of indoor, outdoor, and athletic events, providing opportunities for students to showcase their sporting talents and physical endurance. Indoor games included Chess, Carroms, Plank Competition, Wall Sit, Skipping, Badminton (Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles), while team events such as Cricket, Football, and Tug of War witnessed enthusiastic participation and competitive spirit.
The athletics competitions included March Past, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m, 3000 m Walk, 4 × 100 m Relay (Men and Women), Mixed 4 × 100 m Relay, Shot Put, Discus Throw, and Long Jump. Students displayed remarkable determination, discipline, and athletic excellence throughout the competitions.
The inaugural ceremony marked the beginning of the Sports Meet with an oath-taking ceremony, emphasizing fair play and unity. Throughout the five-day event, participants competed with great enthusiasm while encouraging one another, reflecting the true spirit of sportsmanship. Faculty members and students actively supported and coordinated the various events, ensuring their smooth and successful conduct.
The Sports Meet concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing the outstanding performances of individual participants and teams. Winners were honoured with medals, trophies, and certificates in appreciation of their achievements.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K., Principal, with the active support of the faculty members, the Ektha College Union 2025–26, and the Sports Committee. The Sports Meet 2026 was a grand success, strengthening teamwork, leadership, discipline, and physical well-being among the student teachers while fostering a vibrant sporting culture within the institution.
