The Folk Dance Competition was organized as part of KALAIMA 2K26, the Fine Arts Festival of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, on Day 1 under Stage 1 from 12:00 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. The event celebrated the rich cultural heritage and traditional folk art forms of India through vibrant and energetic performances by students.
Participants represented their respective houses with enthusiasm, presenting well-coordinated group performances that showcased colourful costumes, expressive movements, rhythmic synchronization, and creative choreography. Each team reflected the essence of folk traditions while displaying excellent teamwork, confidence, and stage presence.
The performances were evaluated by the judges on the basis of choreography, synchronization, rhythm, costumes, expressions, creativity, and overall presentation. The audience appreciated the lively performances, making the competition one of the most engaging and entertaining events of the festival.
The Folk Dance Competition successfully promoted cultural awareness, artistic expression, and team spirit among the students. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners, who were applauded for their outstanding performances.
