The IT Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Class on Software Usage on 04 March 2025 at 9:00 AM with the objective of enhancing students’ practical knowledge of commonly used educational and productivity software. The session aimed to equip students with the technical skills required for academic work, digital documentation, and effective classroom practices.
The programme began with a welcome note by the IT Club coordinator, who highlighted the significance of software proficiency for future teachers. The resource person introduced various essential software tools, including word processing applications, spreadsheet programs, presentation tools, and basic utility software used for file management and digital organisation.
Students received clear demonstrations on performing tasks such as creating documents, formatting files, entering and analysing data, designing slides, and using shortcuts to improve efficiency. The class also covered the importance of safe digital practices, proper file storage, and responsible online behaviour.
A short hands-on session allowed students to practise the demonstrated tasks under supervision. Participants actively engaged with the activities and clarified their doubts, making the session interactive and productive.
The class concluded with positive feedback from students, who expressed that the training was highly beneficial and relevant to their academic and professional needs. The IT Club extended its appreciation to the participants and faculty for their cooperation.
Overall, the Class on Software Usage was informative, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ digital competence.
