MODEL MAKING EXHIBITION
Organised by the Mathematics Club
Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe
Date: 03 March 2025 | Time: 11:00 AM
The Mathematics Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted a Model Making Exhibition on 3 March 2025 at 11:00 AM. The event aimed to enhance students’ understanding of mathematical concepts through creative model construction and to promote hands-on learning in an engaging and interactive manner.
The programme began with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who emphasised the importance of incorporating practical activities in mathematics education. Students were encouraged to apply mathematical principles to create models that demonstrated key concepts such as geometry, symmetry, algebraic structures, number patterns, and measurement.
A wide variety of models were displayed, including geometric solids, symmetry patterns, tessellations, fraction towers, coordinate grids, mathematical games, and innovative teaching aids. Participants explained the mathematical ideas behind their models, showcasing their creativity, precision, and conceptual understanding.
Faculty members and visitors interacted with the participants, appreciating their effort and the educational value of the models. The exhibition provided an excellent platform for student teachers to develop teaching skills, visual representation techniques, and confidence in presenting mathematical concepts.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the principal, faculty members, and students for making the exhibition successful and inspiring. The programme effectively promoted experiential learning and motivated student teachers to adopt creative approaches in their future classroom practices.
