INTERHOUSE SPOT DANCE COMPETITION

The Dance Club of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, conducted an Interhouse Spot Dance Competition on 4 March 2025 at 12:00 PM. The event aimed to test participants’ spontaneity, creativity, confidence, and adaptability by challenging them to perform without prior rehearsal.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the club coordinator, who highlighted the fun and skill-building nature of spot dance activities. Students from different houses eagerly participated, ready to showcase their instant choreography and rhythmic ability.
In each round, participants were given random songs and had to perform on the spot, demonstrating creativity, expression, musical sense, and stage presence. The unexpected music selections added excitement and energy to the event, making it enjoyable for both performers and the audience. The competition brought out unique styles, quick adaptability, and enthusiastic participation from all houses.
A panel of faculty judges evaluated the performances based on spontaneity, rhythm, expression, coordination, energy, and overall impact. The judges appreciated the confidence and creativity displayed by the participants, as well as the supportive environment created by each house.
At the end of the event, the winning house was announced and congratulated for their outstanding performance. The competition successfully strengthened team spirit, encouraged artistic expression, and provided a joyful and lively experience for the college community.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the principal, faculty members, coordinators, and students for their enthusiastic involvement and support in making the event a grand success.
