The Psychology Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Photo Contest in observance of Happiness Day on 20th March 2025 at 11:15 AM. The event aimed to encourage students to explore and express the concept of happiness through visual storytelling, while promoting emotional well-being, positivity, and mindful reflection.

The programme began with a brief introduction about the significance of Happiness Day and the importance of recognizing simple moments that contribute to emotional wellness. Students were invited to capture photographs that represented joy, peace, gratitude, connection, nature, personal achievements, and everyday moments that inspire happiness. The contest encouraged participants to pay attention to the small yet meaningful aspects of life that often go unnoticed.

Students submitted a variety of creative and heartfelt photographs. Each entry reflected a unique perspective on happiness—ranging from nature scenes and moments of friendship to acts of kindness and expressions of self-love. The photographs were displayed for viewing, allowing the college community to appreciate the diversity of emotions and interpretations captured by the participants.

The entries were evaluated based on creativity, emotional impact, relevance to the theme, clarity, and overall presentation. Faculty coordinators appreciated the thoughtfulness and positivity reflected in the students’ work. The contest not only brought out artistic talent but also served as a gentle reminder of the importance of mental well-being and the value of cultivating joyful experiences.

The event concluded with appreciation for all participants and recognition of outstanding entries. The Happiness Day Photo Contest was a meaningful and uplifting initiative, reflecting the Psychology Club’s commitment to promoting emotional awareness, creativity, and a positive campus environment.
