The De-Addiction Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Anti-Narcotics Awareness Class on 20th March 2025 at 9:00 AM with the aim of educating students about the dangers of narcotic substances and promoting a drug-free lifestyle.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction to the growing concern of narcotic abuse among youth. Students were encouraged to stay informed, make responsible choices, and contribute to building a healthy and drug-free community.

A resource person delivered an informative and interactive session covering major topics such as:

  • Types of narcotic substances and their harmful effects

  • Psychological, physical, and social consequences of drug addiction

  • Signs of substance dependence

  • Importance of early detection and seeking help

  • Legal implications of narcotic usage

  • Role of family, peers, and institutions in prevention

Real-life examples, case discussions, and visual presentations were used to make the session engaging and impactful. Students actively participated by asking questions, clarifying doubts, and sharing reflections.

The session emphasized the importance of:

  • Developing resilience and coping strategies

  • Choosing healthy lifestyle habits

  • Staying away from peer pressure and risky behaviors

  • Supporting individuals struggling with addiction

The programme concluded with a strong message urging students to take a stand against narcotics, spread awareness within their communities, and help create a safe environment for all.
