“LET’S TALK ABOUT LOCAL HISTORY”
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Cooperative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, in association with JNGHSS, Mahe, organized an educational programme titled “Let’s Talk About Local History” on 24 September 2025 at 3:30 PM on the college campus.
The session aimed to create awareness among student-teachers about the importance of local history in understanding cultural identity, heritage, and social development. It also focused on encouraging learners to explore historical narratives within their own surroundings.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Vyas Jagadheesh, a 2nd Year English student of MCCTE, who took the initiative to plan, organize, and present key insights on the relevance of local historical study. His presentation helped participants gain a deeper understanding of the rich historical background of Mahe and nearby regions.

Faculty members, student-teachers, and invited students from JNGHSS actively participated in the session. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion, where participants shared their observations and experiences related to local history.
Overall, the event successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting historical awareness and strengthening institutional collaboration.
