Teaching about local history and landmarks.
The MAHE Co-Operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with GHSS Pattiam organized a session on Teaching about Local history and land marks on September 17 at 4:00 pm. The resource person for the event was Kashmira Mandody a 2nd year B.Ed. student from MCCTE.
The topic focused on helping students understand the importance of local history and the significance of landmarks in their surroundings. The class began with an introduction to the meaning of local history and how it connects people to their culture and heritage.
Students were encouraged to identify and share information about important landmarks in their locality, such as temples, churches, forts, museums, and historical buildings. Through discussions and visual examples, they learned how these landmarks reflect the social, cultural, and historical background of the region
