Earthquake Awareness Programme

An Awareness Programme on Earthquake was organized by the IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education in association with Iringannur Higher Secondary School on 29th September 2025 at 02:00 p.m. The session was conducted at IHSS, Iringannur.

The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about earthquakes, their causes, and safety measures to be taken during such natural disasters. The resource person for the session was Fathimath Hasna A.K, a Second-year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, who effectively presented the topic using visuals and real-life examples. She discussed the importance of preparedness, emergency responses, and the role of individuals in ensuring safety during earthquakes.

The session was highly informative and interactive. Students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding safety procedures. The programme helped the students understand the significance of being aware and alert in the event of an earthquake.

The event was well-coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE) as the General Co-ordinator, Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE) as the IQAC Co-ordinator, and Ms. Sindhu Jayaraj (Principal, IHSS) as the Programme Co-ordinator.

Overall, the programme was successful in spreading awareness and promoting disaster preparedness among the students.
