The students of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe observed Melinda Rose Day, International Peace Day, and World Alzheimer’s Day in the morning assembly held on 22nd September 2025 with great enthusiasm and commitment.
The programme began with a short introduction highlighting the significance of observing these days together, emphasizing compassion, peace, and awareness towards social issues.
On the occasion of Melinda Rose Day, students presented a brief talk on the importance of kindness, empathy, and selfless service to humanity. They reflected on the values of love, care, and sacrifice symbolized by Melinda Rose.
Marking International Peace Day, students delivered speeches and presented thought-provoking quotes and messages on the necessity of peace, unity, and harmony in the present world. A short skit and a peace pledge were also presented, inspiring everyone to contribute towards creating a peaceful society.
To commemorate World Alzheimer’s Day, students shared valuable information about Alzheimer’s disease, its causes, symptoms, and the importance of spreading awareness and extending support to patients and their families. The assembly also included posters prepared by the students, which conveyed powerful messages about memory care and compassion.
The programme concluded with the Principal’s address, appreciating the efforts of the students and faculty in organizing such a meaningful assembly. He encouraged the gathering to practice empathy, foster peace, and spread awareness on health and social issues in their daily lives.
The observance of these three important days together helped instill values of kindness, peace, and awareness among the students and staff, making the assembly highly impactful and memorable.
