Awareness Programme on Earthquake
An Awareness Programme on “Earthquake” was organised by the IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE) in association with Iringannur Higher Secondary School (IHSS) on 29th September 2025 at 3:15 PM in the school campus.
The main objective of the programme was to educate students about earthquakes, their causes, and the necessary safety measures to be taken before, during, and after an earthquake.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Rihana Fathima, a second-year B.Ed student of MCCTE, who presented the topic effectively with the help of visuals and real-life examples. She discussed the reasons for earthquakes, their impacts on human life and property, and demonstrated simple safety steps that can save lives during such natural disasters.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE), Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE), and Ms. Sindhu Jayaraj (Principal, IHSS). Students actively participated in the interactive session, showing great interest and curiosity about disaster preparedness.
The session proved to be highly informative and beneficial, as it helped students gain awareness and practical knowledge on how to act safely and responsibly in case of an earthquake.
