LIBRARY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE), Mahe, in association with JNGHSS, Mahe, organized a Library Improvement Programme on 26 September 2025 at 3:00 PM.

The main objective of this programme was to create awareness about the importance of a well-organized library and to encourage students to actively participate in activities that enhance the learning environment of the school library. The session aimed to promote reading habits, proper book management, and the effective use of library resources.

The programme was led by the Resource Person, Mr. Vyas Jagadeesh, a Second-Year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, who provided valuable insights into library organization, cataloguing, book arrangement, and ways to maintain a reader-friendly atmosphere. He also highlighted the significance of libraries as centers of knowledge and motivation for students.

The event was coordinated under the leadership of:

• Mr. Shafeek, JNGHSS – Programme Coordinator

Students participated actively in the session, learning how to handle books carefully, arrange shelves, and support the overall cleanliness and functionality of the library. The programme encouraged them to make library usage a regular habit and to appreciate its value in academic growth.
