DEMOCRATIC DAY TALK AND QUIZ

The students of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education organized and conducted a vibrant Democratic Day celebration on 16th September 2025 in the college campus. The programme aimed at fostering awareness among students about the core values of democracy, active citizenship, and participatory governance.

The event commenced at 9:47 AM with an introductory address by a student representative who emphasized the significance of democratic values in a progressive society. The main highlight of the day was an engaging student-led discussion and role play on democratic rights and responsibilities, as seen in the interactive session held in the classroom.

The participants displayed commendable enthusiasm and awareness throughout the programme. A presentation was shown on the screen explaining the key concepts of democracy, its evolution, and relevance in the Indian context. Students took turns to speak on various aspects of democratic participation including voting rights, freedom of expression, and duties of a citizen.

Faculty members appreciated the efforts taken by the students in planning and executing the programme with discipline and creativity. The session concluded with a reflective discussion and a vote of thanks.

Overall, the Democratic Day celebration was a successful initiative that not only enriched students' understanding of democratic principles but also encouraged active engagement with civic responsibilities.
