Journey through local history

The IQAC of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, in association with GVHSS Kannur, organized an enriching session titled “Journey Through Local History” on 22nd October 2025 (Wednesday) at 10:30 a.m.

The session was handled by Ms. Navanya P.P, a second-year B.Ed student of MCCTE, who served as the resource person. The programme aimed to help students understand the importance of exploring and preserving local history and landmarks, and to develop a sense of pride and belonging to their community.

The event began with a brief introduction, followed by an engaging presentation by the resource person. Ms. Navanya highlighted how local heritage reflects the culture, struggles, and achievements of people, and encouraged students to discover the stories behind familiar places in their surroundings. Through visuals, anecdotes, and discussions, she successfully created awareness about the value of historical sites and community identity.

The session was well-received by the participants, who actively interacted and shared their own local experiences. It inspired everyone to see their hometowns as living museums of history.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE) as the General Co-ordinator, Ms. Revathy M (Assistant Professor, MCCTE) as the IQAC Co-ordinator, and Ms. Rindhu (Principal, GVHSS Kannur) as the Programme Co-ordinator.
