WATER POTS FOR BIRDS
Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, under the initiative of the IQAC in association with Ektha College Union, organized a meaningful environmental activity titled “Water Pots for Birds” on 24 February 2026 at 4:15 PM on the college campus.
The programme was conducted with the noble message:
“In this heat, be their shade and their sip.”
The initiative aimed at creating awareness among students about compassion towards living beings and the importance of protecting birds during the summer season. With rising temperatures, birds often struggle to find safe drinking water. As a responsible educational institution, MCCTE took a proactive step by placing water pots at various locations within the campus to help quench the thirst of birds.
The programme was organized under the guidance of:
-
Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE (General Co-ordinator)
-
Mr. Arun U, Assistant Professor, MCCTE (IQAC Co-ordinator)
-
Mr. Vipin K, Assistant Professor, MCCTE (Union Co-ordinator)
Students actively participated in arranging and placing water pots in shaded areas across the campus. The event instilled environmental consciousness, empathy, and social responsibility among the student community.
The programme concluded with a collective commitment from students and faculty members to regularly monitor and refill the water pots throughout the summer season.
The initiative stands as a reflection of MCCTE’s dedication towards environmental sustainability and humane values.
