Teaching Practice Observation
As part of the B.Ed. internship programme, a teaching practice observation was conducted at Thanakkottur U.P. School, Parakkadavu, Kerala, on 16 February 2026 at 4:16 PM. The purpose of the observation was to gain practical insight into the functioning of a school, teaching methodologies, and student behaviour in a real classroom setting.
The school has a well-structured building with adequate facilities for effective teaching and learning. The campus appeared clean, organized, and conducive to academic activities. Classrooms were properly maintained, and educational materials such as charts and displays were visible, indicating an encouraging learning environment.
During the observation, the teaching-learning process was found to be interactive and systematic. The teacher employed simple and clear language while explaining concepts, which helped students understand the lesson effectively. Students were attentive, cooperative, and actively participated in classroom activities. The teacher maintained discipline and ensured that all students were engaged throughout the session.
The observation also highlighted the importance of proper classroom management, communication skills, and the use of teaching aids. The student-teachers present during the visit maintained professionalism and showed interest in learning and improving their teaching skills.
Overall, the observation was informative and beneficial. It provided valuable exposure to real classroom situations and helped in understanding effective teaching practices. This experience contributed significantly to developing teaching competency and confidence among student-teachers.
