Journey Through Local History Programme

 “Journey Through Local History” Programme

A programme titled “Journey Through Local History” was organized by MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education (MCCTE) in association with Sanskrit HSS on 24th October 2025 at 9:30 am. The session aimed to help students explore and understand the rich cultural and historical heritage of their locality, fostering a sense of identity, pride, and connection with their roots.

The resource person for the session was Athira C.V, a second-year B.Ed. student of MCTE. She delivered an enlightening session highlighting significant historical landmarks, local traditions, and cultural evolutions that have shaped the community over time. She also discussed how studying local history contributes to understanding broader national and global historical narratives.

The session was interactive and engaging, with students actively participating in discussions, asking questions, and sharing stories about their own localities. The resource person encouraged them to preserve and promote their cultural heritage through documentation and community involvement.

The programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCTE), Ms. Revathy M (IQAC Co-ordinator, MCTE), and Mr. Sudheesh Babu (Principal, Sanskrit HSS). The students provided positive feedback, describing the session as insightful, inspiring, and educational, as it deepened their appreciation for local history and culture
