An awareness programme on “Library Improvement” was organised by the MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe (MCCTE) under the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kallachi on 24th October 2025 at 2:30 p.m.
The session was conducted at GHSS Kallachi and aimed to create awareness about the importance of libraries and to suggest practical measures for their improvement.
The resource person for the programme was Ms. Shilna T. V, a second-year B.Ed. student of MCCTE, Mahe. She gave an insightful presentation highlighting the role of libraries in enhancing students’ learning experiences and shared innovative ideas for making school libraries more attractive and student-friendly.
The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K (Principal, MCCTE, Mahe) as the General Co-ordinator, Mrs. Revathy (Assistant Professor, MCCTE, Mahe) as the IQAC Co-ordinator, and Mrs. Sujithra (Headmistress, GHSS Kallachi) as the Programme Co-ordinator.
The session was well-received by both teachers and students. It successfully emphasized the importance of maintaining and improving library facilities to promote a reading culture among learners.
Overall, the programme was informative and inspiring, motivating participants to take active steps towards developing better library practices in their institutions.
