The Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe, in association with Government Higher Secondary School, Kallachi, organized a Science Lab Renovation Programme on 23rd October 2025 under the initiative of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The programme aimed at improving the learning environment by upgrading and reorganizing the existing science laboratory facilities at GHSS Kallachi. The renovation involved cleaning, arranging laboratory apparatus systematically, labeling equipment, and creating informative display charts to enhance the scientific atmosphere of the lab.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sreelatha K, Principal, MCCTE, serving as the General Coordinator, along with Ms. Revathy M, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator of MCCTE, and Ms. Sujithra, Headmistress, GHSS Kallachi, as the Programme Coordinator.
The renovation work was successfully carried out by five dedicated second-year B.Ed. trainee- Vismaya P.K (English). To help Vismaya,Devananda and Swathi Rajeev from Biological science, Shilna T.V from English and Hafsath from Mathematics departments were joined.Their teamwork and enthusiasm made the lab more functional and learner-friendly.
The programme not only contributed to the betterment of the school’s infrastructure but also gave the teacher trainees an opportunity to apply their organizational and collaborative skills in a real-school setting. It served as a practical experience in promoting scientific temper and fostering a sense of social responsibility among future educators
