The IQAC of Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education, in collaboration with CEBGHSS, Mahe, organized a session on “Teaching About Local History and Landmarks” on 23rd October 2025 at 12:00 PM.
The resource person for the session was Ms. Neha Fathima, a 2nd year B.Ed student from MCCTE.
The session aimed to help students understand the importance of incorporating local history and landmarks into classroom teaching to make learning more relatable and meaningful. The resource person explained various methods and strategies for effectively teaching local heritage and cultural aspects, supported by examples from the nearby areas of Mahe.
Students actively participated in the discussion, sharing their insights about local historical sites and their educational value. The programme contributed to enriching the teaching-learning process by connecting academic content with real-world community experiences.
