An awareness session on “Earthquake Safety and Preparedness” was conducted by Vaishnav S on September 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The main objective of the session was to create awareness among students and participants about earthquakes, their causes, effects, and the necessary safety measures to be taken before, during, and after an earthquake.
The session began with an introduction to earthquakes, explaining how they occur due to movements of tectonic plates. Vaishnav S used visual aids, models, and real-life examples to make the topic more understandable and interesting.
The presentation also included safety tips, such as identifying safe spots indoors, preparing an emergency kit, and how to stay calm and protect oneself during tremors. Participants were encouraged to ask questions, and an interactive discussion followed where common myths and misconceptions about earthquakes were clarified
