World Hindi Day

 On Behalf of World Hindi Day The students of Mahe Co-operative College conducted a talk on the topic focusing on the importance of the day it's significant features and on the major programs conducted on the day.

World Hindi Day is indeed celebrated on January 10th every year. This day marks the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference, which was held in Nagpur, India on January 10, 1975 The conference aimed to promote Hindi as a global language and was inaugurated by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The day is also significant because it commemorates the first time Hindi was spoken in the United Nations General Assembly in 1949 2. World Hindi Day is celebrated not only in India but also in other countries with Hindi- speaking populations, such as Nepal, Guyana, and Mauritius.

The theme for World Hindi Day 2024 was "Hindi Traditional Knowledge and Bridging Artificial Intelligence" 2. The day is celebrated with various events, including literary programs, language competitions, and cultural events, to promote the use and appreciation of Hindi worldwide.

When was the first World Hindi Day celebrated?

The first World Hindi Day was celebrated in 2006.The talk by the 1st year English Option conveyed all the significant features of the day and helped the other students know more about the day.
