WORLD AIDS DAY – DRAMA PRESENTATION

The Health Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Drama Presentation on 2nd January 2025 at 11:45 AM in observance of World AIDS Day. The programme aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote empathy, and encourage responsible behaviour among students.
The event began with a brief introduction to the significance of World AIDS Day and the importance of educating youth about prevention, stigma reduction, and support for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Students were reminded of the global commitment to ending AIDS-related discrimination and promoting health awareness.
A thought-provoking drama was performed by students, depicting themes such as:

Misconceptions and stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS

Emotional and social challenges faced by affected individuals

The importance of compassion, awareness, and accurate information

Preventive measures and responsible health practices
The performance was impactful, delivering strong social messages through expressive acting, meaningful dialogues, and realistic scenarios. The audience was deeply engaged, responding positively to the creative and educational presentation.
After the drama, a short reflection session was conducted where the significance of understanding HIV/AIDS from a humanistic perspective was emphasized. Students shared their thoughts on the importance of awareness and breaking stereotypes.
The programme concluded with an awareness message stressing the need for informed decision-making, empathy, and community responsibility.
The World AIDS Day Drama Presentation was a successful and meaningful initiative, showcasing the Health Club’s commitment to spreading health awareness and fostering a socially conscious campus environment.
