The workshop aimed to educate students about their legal rights, institutional policies, and mechanisms available for addressing grievances related to safety, harassment, discrimination, and other concerns. The programme focused on empowering students with legal knowledge and promoting a safe and just learning environment.

The session began with a formal introduction of the resource person, followed by an explanation of the objectives of the workshop. The Legal Advisor addressed key topics such as students’ rights under the law, the responsibilities of educational institutions, procedures for filing complaints, and the importance of timely reporting. Clear distinctions were made between legal rights, ethical responsibilities, and institutional protocols.

Students were introduced to various legal provisions related to anti-ragging, dowry prohibition, women’s safety, cyber safety, and protection against harassment. Case examples and real-life scenarios were shared to help students understand how legal principles apply in practical situations. The Legal Advisor also explained the significance of documentation, confidentiality, and evidence in grievance procedures.

The resource person emphasized the importance of awareness, self-advocacy, and standing up against injustice while also advising students on maintaining professionalism and responsible conduct.

The session empowered students with valuable knowledge and strengthened their awareness of both their rights and duties. Faculty members appreciated the relevance of the workshop in promoting a safe, respectful, and well-informed campus environment.

The programme concluded with a message from the coordinators, encouraging students to apply the knowledge gained and to make use of the Grievance Redressal System whenever needed.
