NATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION

The Eco Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe celebrated National Youth Day on 10th January 2025 at 11:00 AM to honour the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and to inspire students to embrace the values of youth empowerment, responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction explaining the relevance of National Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. His messages on strength, character, service, and self-belief were highlighted as guiding principles for today’s youth.
As part of the celebration, the Eco Club organized various meaningful activities, including:
1. Inspirational Talk
A faculty member delivered an enlightening session on the life and ideas of Swami Vivekananda, emphasizing his vision of youth as catalysts of social and national progress. The discussion also connected his teachings to contemporary issues such as environmental care and sustainable development.
2. Youth Pledge
Students took a pledge to contribute positively to society, protect the environment, promote harmony, and uphold values of responsibility and compassion.
3. Creative Expression Activity
Participants prepared short speeches, poems, and reflections inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. Many students linked his philosophies with the role of youth in protecting nature and promoting eco-friendly living.
4. Poster Display
The Eco Club displayed posters and quotes that highlighted themes such as:

The event fostered a sense of motivation, unity, and awareness among students. It encouraged them to not only strive for academic excellence but also to become socially responsible individuals committed to the well-being of their community and environment.
The programme concluded with a message emphasizing that today's youth have the power to shape a sustainable future through conscious choices and active participation in environmental protection.
