The Environmental Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a DIY Upcycling Workshop on 17th January 2025 at 10:00 AM with the aim of promoting creative reuse, waste reduction, and sustainable living practices among students.
The programme began with a welcome address, followed by an introduction to the concept of upcycling and its significance in reducing environmental waste. Students were encouraged to view discarded materials as resources that can be creatively transformed into functional or decorative items.
During the workshop, participants learned practical upcycling techniques using common household and waste materials such as plastic bottles, cardboard, old clothes, paper, and tin cans. The resource person demonstrated step-by-step methods to create useful items including:
