FOLK SONG PROGRAMME

The Music Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Folk Song Programme on 9th January 2025 at 2:30 PM with the aim of promoting cultural heritage, musical diversity, and appreciation for traditional art forms. The event provided students with an opportunity to explore the richness of folk music and understand its significance in preserving community identity and storytelling traditions.
The programme began with a short introduction on the importance of folk music as an expressive medium that reflects the history, emotions, and daily lives of people across different regions. Students presented folk songs from various cultural backgrounds, each performance highlighting unique rhythms, melodies, and lyrical styles.
Participants performed with enthusiasm, showcasing their vocal skills and cultural appreciation. The songs featured themes such as nature, celebrations, work life, love, and social unity. The rhythmic and lively nature of the performances created an engaging and vibrant atmosphere, which captivated both participants and the audience.
