The Health Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Film Presentation in observance of World Alzheimer’s Day on 22nd January 2025 at 10:30 AM. The programme aimed to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, its symptoms, impact on individuals and families, and the importance of early detection and compassionate care.

The session began with a brief introduction on the relevance of World Alzheimer’s Day and the need to understand neurodegenerative disorders in today’s aging population. Students were informed about how memory-related illnesses affect daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being.

A film related to Alzheimer’s awareness was screened, providing meaningful insights into:

  • The early signs and progressive nature of Alzheimer’s

  • Challenges faced by patients and caregivers

  • The importance of patience, empathy, and support

  • Ways to improve the quality of life of individuals affected by the condition

The visual presentation helped students connect emotionally with the subject, encouraging empathy and understanding. After the screening, a short discussion was held where participants shared their reflections and key takeaways from the film.

The programme concluded with an awareness message emphasizing the value of recognizing symptoms early and supporting individuals living with Alzheimer’s with dignity and respect.
