Book Review Session Conducted by the Transgender Club
The Transgender Club of MCCTE, Mahe organized a Book Review Session on 28 January 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the college campus.
The programme aimed to promote reading habits, critical thinking, and awareness about gender diversity through reflective engagement with literature. Students were encouraged to select books that addressed themes related to transgender identity, inclusion, human rights, social justice, or gender experiences.
During the session, participants presented insightful reviews, summarizing the content, discussing key messages, and highlighting the relevance of the chosen books in today’s socio-cultural context. The reviews also reflected the students’ perspectives on the challenges and experiences of the transgender community as portrayed in literature.
The interactive discussion that followed allowed students to share opinions, ask questions, and deepen their understanding of gender diversity. The programme fostered empathy, broadened perspectives, and reinforced the role of literature as a powerful tool for social awareness.
The event concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the students. The Transgender Club expressed its commitment to continuing such thought-provoking and awareness-centered activities in the future.
