The Quiz Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted an Ozone Day Quiz on 1st October 2024 at 12:45 PM in observance of World Ozone Day, which promotes global awareness about the importance of protecting the ozone layer and safeguarding the environment.

The programme began with a welcome address, followed by a brief introduction on the significance of World Ozone Day. Students were encouraged to learn about environmental conservation, climate change, and sustainable practices.

Several teams participated enthusiastically in the quiz, which consisted of various rounds, including:

  • Ozone Layer and Its Importance

  • Causes and Effects of Ozone Depletion

  • Environmental Protection and Climate Awareness

  • International Agreements (Montreal Protocol, etc.)

  • Rapid-Fire Round

Participants demonstrated keen interest, quick thinking, and teamwork as they answered questions related to environmental science and global efforts to protect the ozone layer. The interactive format created an engaging and educational atmosphere.

The event was conducted smoothly under the supervision of the Quiz Club coordinators, who ensured fair play, accurate scoring, and clarity in instructions. Students from the audience also participated by answering open questions between rounds.

At the end of the competition, the winning team was announced and appreciated for their strong performance. All participants were acknowledged for their enthusiasm and awareness.

The programme concluded with a message encouraging students to adopt eco-friendly habits, reduce pollution, and contribute to global environmental protection.
