 CAMPUS BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAMME

The Green Protocol Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe conducted a Campus Beautification Programme on 2nd October 2024 at 10:00 AM as part of its ongoing initiatives to promote environmental responsibility and maintain a clean, green campus environment. The event also aligned with the principles of Gandhi Jayanti, emphasizing cleanliness, discipline, and community participation.

The programme began with an introductory session highlighting the importance of campus cleanliness, sustainability, and collective responsibility in creating a healthy learning atmosphere. Students were encouraged to actively participate and contribute to keeping their surroundings beautiful and eco-friendly.

1. Cleaning and Waste Management Activities

Students and faculty volunteers worked together to carry out various beautification tasks, including:

  • Sweeping pathways, corridors, and open areas

  • Removing litter from classrooms and the campus grounds

  • Segregating collected waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories

  • Cleaning common spaces, garden beds, and seating areas

These activities helped restore cleanliness and improved the overall appearance of the college campus.

2. Garden and Greenery Enhancement

As part of the beautification initiative, students engaged in activities such as:

  • Watering plants and saplings

  • Removing weeds and unwanted vegetation

  • Adding organic manure to improve soil fertility

  • Arranging and redesigning plant pots for aesthetic appeal

  • Cleaning and maintaining green zones across the campus

This effort contributed to strengthening the campus ecosystem and promoting appreciation for greenery.

3. Awareness on Green Protocol Practices

Coordinators addressed students on key sustainability practices, including:

  • Reducing the use of plastics

  • Proper waste segregation
