WORLD COTTON DAY
On 7th October, Mahe Co-operative College of Teacher Education observed World Cotton Day as a part of the Social Science Department’s awareness initiatives. The event aimed to highlight the global importance of cotton and its role in the economy, livelihoods, and sustainability.
A speech was delivered by Chandana S S, shedding light on the significance of cotton as a key agricultural commodity that supports millions of farmers worldwide. The speaker emphasized cotton's contribution not only to the textile industry but also to the social and economic fabric of rural communities, especially in developing countries.
