WORLD THRIFT DAY

 World Thrift Day, also known as World Savings Day, is celebrated annually on 31 October. It was established in 1924 by the Italian Professor Filippo Ravizza , and was first celebrated in Milan, Italy.

Its objectives are:

1. Promoting savings and thriftiness.

2. Encouraging responsible financial habits.

3. Raising awareness about the importance of saving.

4.Supporting economic stability and growth.

The World Thrift Day program was organized by Mathematics department on 30th October 2024 and led by Anjana O K. 

Anjana delivered a speech about the importance of celebrating this day. She highlights the regular savings habit, no matter how small, to set financial goals and prioritize needs, to avoid unnecessary expenses, to invest wisely and to educate yourself on personal finance.
