Kerala Piravi, also known as Kerala Formation Day, is celebrated on November 1st every year. It marks the formation of the state of Kerala, India, in 1956. Prior to 1956, Kerala was divided into three regions Malabar District (under British Rule), Travancore Kingdom (princely state), and Cochin Kingdom (princely state). On November 1, 1956, these regions merged to form the modern state of Kerala, following the States Reorganisation Act.
The Mathematics department conducted a photo contest named "KERALA DAY PHOTO CONTEST" for the students with some rules that the photo must be taken in wearing KERALA TRADITIONAL DRESS and the background must be NATURE. All students participated in the contest and the Mathematics department selected 2 best photos of both boy and a girl. The assistant professor Ms. Rahidha Rajan gave prize to the winners Shilna from English department and Abhin Raj
