INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY

The Social Science Department of MAHE Co-operative College of Teachers Education organized a special assembly on October 17, 2024, to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. This day is observed globally to raise awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution in all countries, particularly in developing nations.

The programme commenced in the morning with a brief introduction to the significance of the day, followed by a speech delivered by Athulya Rajeev, highlighting the importance of global solidarity in combating poverty. The speaker emphasized the role of education, social awareness, and collective action in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.

Students and faculty gathered in the assembly hall, as depicted in the accompanying photograph, demonstrating their commitment to social issues and the educational institution’s role in nurturing socially responsible individuals.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility we share in creating a just and equitable society.
