GANDHI JAYANTHI CELEBRATION

The Social Science Club of MAHE Co-operative College of Teacher Education, Mahe observed Gandhi Jayanthi on 2nd October 2024 at 9:30 AM with great respect and enthusiasm. The programme was organized to honour the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and to spread awareness about his values of truth, non-violence, simplicity, and national unity. The celebration began with a brief introduction on the significance of the day, followed by floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Students presented speeches and reflections on Gandhi’s life, highlighting his role in India’s freedom struggle and the relevance of his principles in modern society. Patriotic songs and thoughtful presentations added depth and meaning to the programme. A short skit was also performed, showcasing Gandhiji’s ideals of non-violence and social harmony.
As part of the celebration, a cleanliness drive was conducted on the campus in remembrance of Gandhi’s commitment to cleanliness and community service. Students actively participated in cleaning the surroundings, thus reinforcing the values he promoted.
The programme concluded with remarks from faculty members, who encouraged students to carry forward Gandhian values in their daily lives and contribute positively to society. The Gandhi Jayanthi celebration was a meaningful and inspiring event, reflecting the Social Science Club’s dedication to promoting patriotism, moral values, and social responsibility among students.
